As the old saying goes: “never work with children or animals”. Family and newborn shoots are always hard work as a photographer. You have various subjects to work with, children who have a very short attention span, and babies who just want to either feed or sleep (or cry!!). But all the effort put in by everyone involved is certainly worth it. To have beautiful photographs that capture a family moment in time, is gold. Photographs are the things we treasure most, and look at time and time again over the years with fond memories. To be reminded of what we looked like back then, how small the children were, the smiles on our faces….is priceless.

I was photographed during both of my pregnancies, and I am so grateful that I made the effort! Sometimes during a pregnancy it can feel like you’re going to be pregnant forever! But of course you’re not (thank God!!) and the season passes by. To have beautiful photographs that document your pregnancy is something very special. Because once you are not pregnant anymore, it is actually amazing looking at photographs of yourself when you were. To look at yourself from another perspective…wow my belly really was that big!

But so much more than that is the lifelong treasure you have in these photographs. Looking at them brings such joy, and of course memories. And to be able to show them to your child as they grow is something very special. I encourage every pregnant woman to capture this time in their lives… and not just because I am a photographer, but from one mum to another. I know what my pregnancy photographs mean to me! Take your own snapshots documenting your belly as it grows, it takes but a minute but you’ll be so glad you did. And better still, have a professional pregnancy shoot done! Sure you might not feel your most glamourous right now, but that is what we are here for! The women in our pregnancy gallery  did not look quite so glamourous when they walked through the doors… but we sure made them look and feel glam – even with a big belly!

So what are you waiting for? You deserve to be pampered during your pregnancy, and what would be a better reason than for creating some beautiful pregnancy photos.
